Caesar in Gaul is a standalone campaign pack for Total War: Rome II, developed by The Creative Assembly and released in 2013 for PC. It focuses on Julius Caesar's campaigns of conquest in Gaul, drawing directly from Caesar's own account of the war, Commentarii de bello Gallico. Players choose from four factions involved in the conflict — the Gallic Arverni, the Germanic Suebi, the Belgic Nervii, or Rome — each offering a distinct perspective on the struggle. As with the base game, gameplay combines large-scale real-time battles with turn-based strategic campaign management. The pack's narrower geographic and historical scope, compared to Rome II's broader campaign, allows for a more concentrated representation of this particular Roman war of expansion and the tribal coalitions that resisted it.
