Toy Soldiers is a hybrid strategy-shooter developed by Signal Studios, originally released for Xbox 360 in 2010 before coming to PC. Set against the backdrop of World War I, the game casts players as commanders of miniature toy armies competing for control of trench warfare dioramas. Gameplay blends real-time strategy with direct unit control, allowing players to switch between managing the battlefield from an overhead view and personally operating individual weapons such as artillery pieces, biplanes, tanks, cavalry, and flamethrowers. The aesthetic frames the conflict as a tabletop toy diorama, lending a distinctive visual style to the WWI setting. The PC release includes both downloadable content packs from the Xbox Live Arcade version: The Kaiser's Battle, which introduces French-themed content and a large experimental tank boss, and Invasion, a mini-campaign in which the German army faces anachronistic enemies including knights, flying saucers, and a WWII-era Mustang fighter.
