Developed by High Moon Studios and released in 2010 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, Transformers: War for Cybertron is a third-person shooter set entirely on Cybertron, the Transformers' home world, before the conflict reaches Earth. The game depicts the civil war between the Autobots and Decepticons, with players choosing a side at the outset. Each faction features its own distinct campaign, offering separate narrative perspectives on the same war. The title drew on the broader Transformers franchise while establishing its own continuity grounded in Cybertronian lore. Online multiplayer was available after launch but the servers were shut down in April 2020, and the game itself was delisted from digital storefronts at the end of 2017, making physical copies the primary means of access.
