Released in 2018 by Vancouver-based indie studio Charm Games, Twilight Path is a virtual reality fantasy puzzle adventure available on PlayStation VR, Oculus VR, and SteamVR. The game is set in a surreal realm suspended between the living world and the afterlife, where the player awakens to find themselves trapped among wandering spirits, enchanted sentries, and mischievous gods. The central objective involves restoring an ancient, long-abandoned structure known as the Great Wheel as the only means of returning home. Drawing inspiration from films such as Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, The Dark Crystal, and The Neverending Story, the game emphasizes atmosphere and world-building alongside its puzzle mechanics. Charm Games, the small independent studio behind the earlier VR title FORM, developed Twilight Path as a passion project, built around the belief that virtual reality is a medium capable of realizing otherwise impossible experiences.
