TwinBee is a cartoon-styled vertical-scrolling shoot 'em up developed by Konami and originally released in arcades in 1985. It holds the distinction of being the first title to run on Konami's Bubble System hardware. Players pilot a small fighter through waves of enemies across colorful, lighthearted stages that distinguish it visually from the grittier aesthetic common to the genre at the time. The game has seen numerous re-releases across multiple platforms over the decades, appearing on PSP as part of the TwinBee Portable collection, on Nintendo DS within Konami Classics Series: Arcade Hits, on PC and Xbox 360 via the Game Room service, and on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC as part of the Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection.
The story is about the Twinbee and his friends, invented by Dr. Cinnamon, who set out to save Donburi Island, which has been taken over by the Great Spice King.
