UFC: Tapout is a fighting game developed by DreamFactory and published by Crave Entertainment, released for Xbox in February 2002. Based on the Ultimate Fighting Championship, it centers on mixed martial arts competition where bouts can end through knockout, submission (tapout), referee stoppage, or judges' decision. The roster includes prominent UFC fighters of the era such as Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, Frank Shamrock, Matt Hughes, and Mark Coleman, with additional characters — including two female competitors and celebrity Ice-T — unlockable through progression. The game offers several competition structures: exhibition, tournament, arcade, and championship modes. Critics received the game with generally lukewarm assessments. A sequel, UFC: Tapout 2, followed in 2003 under a different publisher with an updated roster but a broadly similar design. Both titles carry an ESRB rating of T for Teen.
