Ultimate Band is a music rhythm game developed by Fall Line Studios and released in 2008 for the Wii and Nintendo DS. Unlike many contemporaries in the genre, it requires no specialized peripheral hardware such as guitar or drum controllers. On the Wii, gameplay is handled entirely through the Wii Remote and Nunchuk — guitar playing, for instance, involves holding button combinations on the Nunchuk while moving the Wii Remote up and down to simulate strumming. The Nintendo DS version takes a different approach, mapping rhythm interactions to the handheld's touch screen and stylus. This controller-based design makes the game accessible without additional hardware investment, distinguishing it from peripheral-dependent titles that dominated the music game market during the same period.
