Unit 13 is a third-person tactical shooter developed by Zipper Interactive for the PlayStation Vita, released in 2012. Drawing from the same design philosophy as the SOCOM series, it places the camera behind the player character, with an optional first-person aiming mode available for weapons equipped with compatible attachments. Missions can be tackled in any order, and the approach to completing objectives varies by mission type — Direct Action missions permit flexible strategies, while others impose specific conditions such as mandatory stealth. A Dynamic Mode can be unlocked for each mission, randomizing objective types, enemy placements, and weapon loadouts to increase replayability. All missions support two-player cooperative play, making it one of the more fully featured co-op experiences on the Vita at launch. The combination of flexible mission design, variable difficulty modifiers, and cooperative support gives the game a structure oriented toward repeat play and score competition.
