Vexx is a 3D platformer developed by Acclaim Studios Austin, released in 2003 for Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, and PlayStation 2. The game follows Vexx, a young warrior seeking revenge against Dark Yabu and the Shadowraiths, who killed his grandfather and subjugated his people. Armed with razor-sharp war talons, players traverse a variety of distinct environments — including volcanic islands, desert temples, frozen citadels, and giants' castles — using combat abilities and climbing mechanics to progress. A notable element of the game is its dynamic day-night cycle: as darkness sets in, enemies grow more aggressive and the environments themselves become increasingly dangerous. The ultimate goal is to defeat the forces responsible for the destruction of Vexx's home village of Rockhaven and restore peace to its surviving inhabitants.
