Developed by Atlas V in collaboration with Aardman, Wallace & Gromit: The Grand Getaway is a narrative VR adventure released in 2023 for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and PlayStation VR2. The game follows Wallace and Gromit as a planned golfing holiday goes awry, sending the pair on an unintended journey from their home on West Wallaby Street into deep space. Players take control of Wallace, Gromit, and a new invention called Auto-Caddy across a series of environments that include alien worlds and encounters with unfamiliar life forms. The tone and visual style draw on the comedic sensibility characteristic of Aardman's animated productions, with the story designed to evoke the feel of a classic short film. Replayable minigames are distributed throughout the experience, providing additional engagement beyond the central narrative.
