As the thirteenth installment in the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune arcade series, this game marks the third upgrade to Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 6, following the 6 R and 6 RR updates. It was released in Japan on April 17, 2024, with the release date for the Asian version yet to be confirmed. The game was announced during a live stream celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune series.
