WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Games! is a puzzle and arcade title developed by Nintendo R&D1 and released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2003. It adapts the rapid-fire microgame format introduced in the Game Boy Advance original, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, converting many of its handheld mini-games into a multiplayer experience for up to four players. Each microgame lasts only a few seconds, challenging participants to complete absurd tasks — brushing teeth, picking noses, shooting apples, throwing free throws, or piloting paper airplanes, among dozens of others — as quickly and accurately as possible. The unpredictability of which challenge appears next is central to the experience. Some games even allow players not currently in control to participate in a passive supporting role, reinforcing the cooperative and competitive group dynamic. The game draws heavily on the aesthetic and sensibility of classic pre-3D gaming.
