Developed by Nintendo SPD Production Group No. 1 and released in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance, WarioWare: Twisted! is a puzzle and arcade game that continues the rapid-fire minigame format established by its predecessor. The central addition is a built-in gyro sensor embedded in the cartridge, which detects physical rotation of the hardware, making tilting and spinning the Game Boy Advance SP the primary means of interaction rather than traditional button presses. The premise follows Wario and his team at WarioWare, Inc. channeling this spin technology into a collection of over 200 minigames, each lasting only a few seconds. Completing these minigames unlocks a variety of bonus content, including additional games, figurines, and instruments. The combination of motion-based controls and the characteristic high-speed structure gives the game a distinctly physical quality uncommon for handheld titles of the era.
