WCW Nitro is a professional wrestling game developed by Inland Productions and released in 1996 for PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and PC. Based on the World Championship Wrestling promotion and its rival faction the New World Order, the game features a roster of more than 60 wrestlers, each equipped with dozens of moves drawn from their real-world repertoires, including signature taunts, trademark maneuvers, and finishing moves. Players can compete in singles matches, tag team bouts, or Battle Royale competition across arenas tied to major WCW events such as Monday Nitro, Starrcade, and Halloween Havoc. Additional content includes hidden arenas and secret run-in characters. Action extends beyond the ring ropes, allowing brawling in the ringside area, and the game incorporates the Nitro television theme music throughout its presentation.
