We Were Here Too is a first-person cooperative puzzle-adventure developed by Total Mayhem Games and released in 2018, available on PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. A standalone entry in the We Were Here series, the game places two players in separate sections of Castle Rock, a fictional medieval fortress frozen in time. One player is stranded in what appears to be a royal court while the other finds themselves in an abandoned tomb, and the only means of communication between them is a walkie-talkie. Progress depends entirely on verbal coordination — each player must observe their surroundings, relay information, and interpret what their partner describes in order to solve puzzles and advance. The asymmetrical structure means both players encounter distinct locations and storylines that together form a shared narrative. Microphones are required for both participants. Multiple puzzle solutions offer varied outcomes across playthroughs, and hidden areas throughout the castle contribute to an underlying mystery about the fate of Castle Rock.
In 1536, there was a vivid kingdom, ruled by King Bartholomeus of Amber-Adelaide and his family. It was the time of monarchs and the king made sure that was well known. He ruled together with his wife, Queen Leonora and his two daughters, and got advice from his 4 generals, whose loyalty was questionable. Then death drew a veil of melancholy through the halls of Castle Rock and made them colder than ever before. In We Were Here Too, you and your partner go back to Castle Rock to rescue your friends from the quarters of the first general: Warden Brutus. Dark secrets are unveiled when you enter the castle. Once a place of death, now the spirits of the lost ones return to their home and they make sure you won’t leave the castle… alive.
