When Vikings Attack! is a 2012 arena brawler developed by Clever Beans for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Players command a mob of civilians engaged in wave-based combat against advancing Viking hordes, with one defining constraint: all attacks must be performed by picking up and hurling objects found on the battlefield. Every character — civilian or Viking — is knocked out in a single hit from any thrown item, making the action fast and chaotic. Wider or larger objects can eliminate entire groups at once, which poses a risk to the player's own mob as well. Civilians lost in combat can be replaced by gathering bystanders wandering the arena, keeping the group replenished. The game also introduces special throwable items, including explosive bombs capable of dealing area-of-effect damage to clustered enemies.
