A fast-paced sports arcade game developed by Data East, Windjammers was originally released in 1994 for the Neo Geo MVS arcade system before reaching the Neo Geo AES, Neo Geo CD, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch. Known in Japan as Flying Power Disc, the game centers on competitive disc-throwing matches in which two players face off across a court, hurling a disc back and forth in an attempt to land it in the opponent's goal zone. The core mechanics draw clear comparisons to Pong and air hockey, emphasizing quick reflexes and sharp angles over complex controls. Matches can be played against CPU opponents or in a head-to-head two-player versus mode. Following the bankruptcy of Data East, the intellectual property rights passed to publisher Paon.
