Windstorm: Start of a Great Friendship – Remastered is an adventure and horse-riding simulator developed by Aesir Interactive and released in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Based on the Windstorm film and book series (known in German as Ostwind), it follows Mika, a young girl with a gift for communicating with horses, as she forms a bond with a black stallion named Windstorm on the Kaltenbach estate. Players ride freely across the Alpine landscape, completing riding tasks, racing against other horses, and searching for hidden objects and collectibles. Off the saddle, gameplay extends to stable management and grooming routines, including cleaning hooves and tending to Windstorm's health and happiness. This remastered edition features upgraded character and animal models with revised animations, reworked vegetation and lighting, 4K upsampling, 30 FPS support, a new photo mode with filters, and additional achievements.
