Wipeout is a futuristic racing game developed by Psygnosis and released in 1995 for PlayStation, with later ports to platforms including Sega Saturn, DOS, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3, and Android. Set in 2052, the game places players in the F3600 anti-gravity racing league, where they pilot high-speed craft across multiple tracks. Four teams are available, each offering two distinct vessels that differ in key performance attributes: acceleration, top speed, mass, and turning radius. Races incorporate a power-up system tied to pads scattered along each track. Collecting these pads grants access to an array of offensive and defensive items, including rockets, missiles, mines, shockwaves, turbo boosts, and shields. Strategic use of these pickups is central to race outcomes, as they can either protect a player's craft from damage or actively hinder rival competitors.
Set in the year 2052, players compete in the F3600 anti-gravity racing league, piloting one of a selection of craft in races on several different tracks around the world.
