Wipeout Fusion is a futuristic anti-gravity racing game developed by SCE Studio Liverpool and released for PlayStation 2 in 2002. Set within the F9000 Anti-Gravity Race League, players pilot hovercrafts at high speed while deploying weapons against rivals to gain competitive advantage. The game offers several distinct modes: an Arcade mode for single races that unlocks new tracks, a league mode, and a returning Challenge mode in which each team presents six progressively gated objectives requiring medal-level performance. A new Zone mode tasks players with completing as many laps as possible on a track while speed escalates continuously. A vehicle upgrade system allows players to spend credits earned from race results on improvements to speed, thrust, weapon power, shield strength, lateral stability, and braking — with upgraded craft carrying over into most other modes. Two-player split-screen multiplayer is also supported.
