XGRA: Extreme G Racing Association is a futuristic racing game developed by Acclaim Cheltenham and released in 2003 for Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, and PlayStation 2. The fourth entry in the Extreme-G series, it builds on its predecessors with additional tracks and a redesigned weapon system. Players compete on high-speed antigravity bikes capable of accelerating from zero to 300 mph in seconds, with top speeds exceeding 750 mph — the point at which the game recreates breaking the sound barrier by silencing most ambient audio, leaving only music, weapon effects, rival taunts, and item pickups audible. Eight teams are available to race for, each fielding bikes with distinct trade-offs across five attributes: speed, acceleration, handling, shielding, and regeneration. This team-based structure encourages players to weigh those strengths and weaknesses when selecting a ride for each event.
