Xyanide is a 2006 shoot 'em up developed by Playlogic Entertainment for the Xbox, published by Evolved Games. Originally conceived by Engine Software as a Game Boy Advance title, the project was reworked into this console release before spawning a follow-up, Xyanide: Resurrection, which arrived in 2007 across PC, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable. As a vertical or scrolling shooter, the game follows the genre's core structure of piloting a craft through waves of enemies while evading incoming fire. The title's development history — transitioning from handheld hardware to a home console — reflects the expanded scope of the final product. Its sequel's multi-platform release the following year suggests the series found a modest audience beyond the original Xbox entry.
