Developed by Zoe Mode and released in 2008 for the Xbox 360, You're in the Movies is a party game in which up to four players participate in the creation of a short film. The game offers 30 distinct movie scenarios, and players perform a variety of physical actions — such as applying make-up, jogging in place, steering a car, or playing volleyball — that are captured and edited into the finished production. The Xbox 360 camera records participants as they complete these activities, integrating the footage into whichever scenario has been selected. Completed films can be saved directly to the console or shared with others by sending them via email, giving the experience a social dimension that extends beyond the immediate play session.
