Released in March 2018, The Curse of the Pharaohs is the second of two downloadable expansion packs for Assassin's Creed Origins, developed by Ubisoft Montreal and available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The RPG and adventure expansion sends protagonist Bayek to Thebes and the Valley of the Kings, where an unfolding mystery takes on an increasingly nightmarish dimension. Drawing deeper into ancient Egyptian mythology than the base game, the expansion introduces encounters with mythical creatures and resurrected pharaohs as central threats. It builds on the open-world action RPG framework of Origins while expanding the setting and supernatural elements established in the original release, complementing the first DLC, The Hidden Ones, with a more mythology-focused storyline rooted in one of ancient Egypt's most iconic and historically significant regions.
