Battle Arena Toshinden 3 is a weapon-based 3D fighting game developed by Takara and released for PlayStation in 1996. The third entry in the Toshinden series, it centers on a martial tournament featuring a roster of over 30 characters, including 12 introduced for the first time, each equipped with distinct weapons, fighting styles, and move sets. A key structural change from earlier installments is the shift to enclosed arenas, where walls and ceilings can be used offensively during combat, creating a more confined and tactical experience. The game runs at either 30 or 60 frames per second and offers several modes not present in the Japanese release, including Practice, Survival, and Team Battle. A two-player head-to-head mode is also included. Each character has access to an expanded repertoire of techniques, including multi-hit combination attacks.
