Cooking Mama: World Kitchen is a cooking simulation game developed by Cooking Mama Limited and released in 2008 for the Wii. Players select meals to prepare and work through each dish in a series of discrete steps, using the Wii's motion controls to perform individual cooking actions — slicing fish for sushi, for instance, is handled separately from preparing the rice. Completing a dish unlocks additional recipes to attempt, as well as new characters drawn from Mama's circle of family and friends. The game's structure encourages gradual progression through its recipe catalog, rewarding players who successfully finish meals with an expanding roster of both culinary options and supporting characters.
