Cooking Mama 2: Dinner With Friends is a cooking simulation game developed by Cooking Mama Limited and released in 2007 for the Nintendo DS and Wii. Building on the foundation of the original title, the game tasks players with preparing dishes by following on-screen guidance from the character Mama. On the Nintendo DS, this is accomplished through stylus-based touch controls, with each step in a recipe — such as chopping vegetables or mixing ingredients — handled as a brief minigame. A complete dish is assembled by chaining several of these minigames together, drawing from a catalog of 80 recipes. Upon finishing a dish, performance is graded on a scale of 100 and awarded a medal, including a distinctive "Broken Silver" for failed steps. Bonus points earned during minigames accumulate separately as bonus stars, and every five stars unlocks an additional item tied to the completed recipe.
