Dead Man's Hand is a first-person shooter developed by Human Head Studios and released in 2004 for Xbox and PC. Set in a Western context, the game equips the player with four default weapons — a knife, pistol, rifle, and shotgun — alongside collectible items such as TNT and whisky bombs. A trick shot meter fills as the player shoots environmental objects like bottles and cans, or eliminates enemies; when charged, it unlocks a secondary firing mode that varies by weapon. The physics engine supports environmental kills, such as dislodging a boulder to crush an enemy below, which yield bonus points and a faster meter buildup. Between levels, the player participates in poker rounds to earn additional health and ammunition. The game is also notable for featuring a protagonist of Hispanic or Mestizo descent, a relatively uncommon choice for the era.
