Digimon World Data Squad is a role-playing game developed by Bandai Namco Games for the PlayStation 2, released in 2007. Set within the Digimon Data Squad universe, the story centers on the Seven Great Demon Lords and follows four main characters — Marcus Damon, Thomas H. Norstein, Yoshino Fujieda, and Keenan Crier — each accompanied by their Digimon partners. The game employs cel-shaded graphics and a battle system derived from the Japanese arcade title Battle Terminal. Its self-described "Dramatic/Innovative RPG" classification reflects a core mechanic in which how the player treats their Digimon partner directly influences its development and digivolution path, a system reminiscent of the original Digimon World. A dedicated progression mechanic called the Galactica Evolution System governs which forms a partner Digimon can ultimately reach. The game also features original characters created exclusively for this title, absent from all other Data Squad media.
