F.E.A.R. Extraction Point is a first-person shooter developed by TimeGate Studios and released in 2006 as the first standalone expansion pack for F.E.A.R., available on PC and Xbox 360. Players take on the role of a soldier with superhuman reflexes, a trait mechanically represented through a reflex time system that slows the surrounding world while leaving the player's own aiming and reaction speed unaffected. This ability is accompanied by distinctive visual effects, including visible bullets in flight that distort the air and interact with the game's particle system. Beyond the core combat, the expansion introduces additional environmental interaction: doors can be forced open through melee strikes or blown apart with explosives, and destructible crates scattered throughout levels may yield supplies. These additions build on the foundation of the original game while offering a self-contained campaign that does not require the base title to play.
The story directly begins where the first game left. You and two of your teammates, Holiday and Jin, survived the explosion of the secret laboratory and you're now on your way back to base by helicopter assuming the day had been saved and Alma and Fettel would be dead. But as always, nothing seems as it is and suddenly Alma boards the helicopter and it crashes down. Separated from your teammates, you make your way to the extraction point not knowing what awaits you...
