F1 2009 is a racing simulator developed by Sumo Digital, released in 2009 for Wii, PSP, PlayStation Vita, and iOS. The game replicates the full 2009 Formula One calendar, including the Marina Bay Street Circuit for night racing and the newly added Yas Marina Circuit. It features the 20 drivers who began the 2009 season, reflecting the original lineup without accounting for mid-season driver changes. Gameplay incorporates slick tyres and the KERS energy recovery system, which is applied to all cars in the game regardless of which teams actually employed it during the real season. Fifteen individually toggleable driver aids accommodate both newcomers and veteran players. Multiplayer includes a "Fair Play" system that adjusts assistance levels based on player skill. Available modes include Quick Race, Time Trial, and a two-player split-screen option on the Wii version.
