Fable II is an open-world action role-playing game developed by Lionhead Studios and released in 2008 for Xbox 360, and the second installment in the Fable series. Set in the land of Albion, the game follows a hero tasked with defeating the villainous Lord Lucian by uniting three other heroes to confront him. The protagonist never speaks, and dialogue during interactive cutscenes plays out without player input. A significant portion of the experience centers on player choice and consequence. Decisions made throughout the game shape the hero's physical appearance and moral alignment, as well as the broader world. Players can pursue relationships, enter same-sex or opposite-sex marriages, and raise children to a certain age. The game also expands on NPC interactions through a more involved expression system, offering considerable freedom in how players define their character and engage with the world around them.
Set 500 years after Fable 1 but still in the land of Albion, the player is set out to help a blind seer rescue the world from a madman who wants to destroy it a create a new, purer world. The Hero has to gather together three other heroes of strength, skill and will in order for them to come together and defeat the antagonist with the help of Theresa who was the sister of the main character in the first Fable game.
