Fatal Inertia is a futuristic racing game developed by Koei Canada, set on mid-22nd century Earth where powerful corporations dominate politics, commerce, and entertainment. In this world, extreme sports have risen to prominence, with the high-speed hovercar competition known as Fatal Inertia serving as the most popular spectacle. Races are held far from populated areas due to the inherent danger of the sport. Players navigate hovercrafts across six distinct environments spread across fifty-one courses. The game launched on Xbox 360 in 2007, while the PlayStation 3 version faced delays attributed to technical challenges with Unreal Engine 3 and the console's Cell processor architecture. It eventually arrived on PlayStation Network in 2008 under the title Fatal Inertia EX, releasing first in Japan, followed by North America and Europe.
