Football Manager 2008 is a football management simulation developed by Sports Interactive, released in October 2007 for PC, Mac, and Xbox 360. Published under alternate regional titles — Worldwide Soccer Manager 2008 in the United States and Canada, and Fútbol Manager 2008 in South America — the game places players in the role of a football club manager responsible for tactical and administrative decisions. It features over 5,000 playable teams drawn from more than 50 countries, offering broad coverage of global football leagues and competitions. Following launch, Sports Interactive addressed several reported issues through a staged patching process, beginning with an early beta patch targeting the most critical problems and culminating in a final patch released in February 2008.
