Fuga: Melodies of Steel is a turn-based RPG developed by CyberConnect2 and released in 2021 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Set in a world ravaged by the expansionist Berman Empire, the game follows eleven children whose village is destroyed in a sudden attack. The survivors board Taranis, an enormous tank left behind by an ancient advanced civilization, and set out across a hostile landscape to rescue their captured families. Combat is structured around assigning each child to a specific gun turret aboard the tank, with their individual skills and traits influencing battle outcomes. Outside of combat, the children live together inside Taranis, forming emotional bonds that affect the course of events. The tank itself harbors a devastating superweapon called the Soul Cannon, which can turn the tide of desperate battles but requires sacrificing one of the crew members to fire, forcing consequential moral decisions throughout the journey.
