Galaga Legions is a fixed shooter developed by Namco and released in 2008 as an Xbox Live Arcade exclusive, created by the same team behind Pac-Man Championship Edition. A modernized take on the classic Galaga formula, the game tasks players with fending off massive waves of alien enemies across visually stylized stages. Rather than simply updating the original arcade experience, it introduces new mechanics that expand on the foundational shoot-em-up structure while retaining the series' signature enemy formations. The title was later included in the Namco Museum Virtual Arcade compilation and in Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions for Nintendo 3DS. An enhanced DX version was subsequently released through the Namco Generations series, arriving on Xbox Live Arcade in June 2011 and on PlayStation Network in August 2011, broadening the game's availability beyond its original platform.
