Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 is a twin-stick arcade shooter developed by Bizarre Creations and released in 2008 for Xbox 360, with later availability on Xbox One. A sequel to the original Retro Evolved, it expands the formula by offering six distinct game modes: Deadline, King, Evolved, Pacifism, Waves, and Sequence. Each mode presents a different set of rules and challenges within the series' signature neon-geometric visual style, where players pilot a small ship against waves of abstract geometric enemies across a warping grid arena. The sequel also introduced multiplayer support, a feature absent from its predecessor. The variety of modes gives the game considerable replay value, as players must adapt their strategies and playstyles to succeed across the different rule sets rather than relying on a single approach.
