Grand Prix 3 is a Formula One racing simulator developed by MicroProse Software and published by Hasbro Interactive for PC in 2000. The game is based on the 1998 Formula One season, featuring its drivers and teams with one notable exception: Jacques Villeneuve is absent and replaced by a fictional stand-in named John Newhouse. While it received a somewhat more modest reception than its predecessors in the series, it was broadly regarded at the time as among the most accomplished racing simulations available on PC. Hasbro later released an expansion, GP3-2000, updating the content to the 2000 Formula One season and introducing several improvements: refined damage physics that account for on-track debris, enhanced artificial intelligence, a new replay system, and EAX 3D audio support. The game supported a modding community, though activity gradually declined following the release of Grand Prix 4, as track creators migrated to the newer title.
