Developed by Bungie and released in 2004, Halo 2 is a first-person shooter for Xbox, PC, and Xbox One, and a direct sequel to Halo: Combat Evolved. The game continues the story of Master Chief, a genetically augmented super-soldier locked in a desperate struggle against the Covenant, an alien alliance bent on the annihilation of humanity. Players navigate combat scenarios as the last credible defense against an overwhelming and relentless enemy force. Building on the foundation of its predecessor, Halo 2 expands the sci-fi military setting that made the original a landmark title, carrying forward its blend of gunplay and narrative while deepening the conflict between humanity and the Covenant across a series of large-scale engagements.
