Harvest Moon: Skytree Village is a farming simulation RPG developed by Natsume Inc., released in 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS. Set in Skytree Village, a once-flourishing settlement tied to the Harvest Goddess, the game tasks players with reversing a long decline that has left the land arid and largely abandoned. The central objective involves restoring seven legendary Skytrees, each tied to the region's prosperity and power. Beyond tending crops and livestock — including the Poitou donkey, a new addition to the series — players can reshape the terrain itself, raising and lowering land and carving out rivers and ponds. Upgraded tools make large-scale land management more practical. Fishing from a boat provides a slower-paced diversion alongside the farming and exploration. The game introduces a new art style, updated character models, and a cast that mixes new faces with returning characters, supported by beginner-friendly tutorials throughout.
Many people used to live in Skytree Village, and the land was lush and green. However, the power of the Harvest Goddess gradually began to wane, and the land became parched and dry. It's up to you revive the seven Skytrees to bring life back to this desolate land!
