Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is a 2023 action role-playing adventure developed by Guerrilla Games, available on PlayStation 5 and PC. A direct continuation of Horizon Forbidden West, it follows Aloy as she travels south of the Tenakth Clan Lands into a region shaped by thousands of years of volcanic eruptions and seismic upheaval. The ruins of Los Angeles have been transformed into a hazardous archipelago of islands, forming a hostile and largely untamed landscape. Within this setting, Aloy investigates and pursues a dangerous new threat to the planet. The expansion introduces previously unseen machines alongside a new central storyline, extending the main game's narrative into this geologically volatile territory. The combination of a dramatically altered real-world location and the series' established mix of exploration and combat defines the expansion's core experience.
