Developed by Overhaul Games and released in 2014, Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition is an updated version of the classic 2000 Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game set in the Forgotten Realms. Players assemble and customize a party of up to six characters, then guide them through the frozen wilderness of Icewind Dale — venturing into the Spine of the World to battle monsters, explore dungeons, and confront a threat stirring beneath the glaciers. Combat operates in real-time with pause, adapting 2nd Edition D&D rules within a 2D isometric perspective. The Enhanced Edition bundles the original campaign with both official expansions, Heart of Winter and Trials of the Luremaster, alongside previously cut quest content restored for this release. Over 30 new character kits and classes, additional spells, and new equipment expand party-building options. Cross-platform multiplayer is supported across Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile platforms, with an overhauled interface and numerous bug fixes modernizing the experience.
