Inazuma Eleven is a role-playing sports game developed by LEVEL-5, originally released in 2008 for the Nintendo DS and later made available on the Nintendo 3DS. The game follows Mark Evans, a gifted goalkeeper and grandson of a legendary Japanese goalkeeper, who struggles to field a proper team at his school due to his six indifferent teammates. The arrival of a mysterious forward named Axel Blaze sets the story in motion, prompting Mark to travel and recruit players capable of building a competitive squad. Recruitment and roster management are central mechanics, with a pool of nearly 1,000 playable characters, each possessing distinct skills that directly influence match outcomes. Progress through the narrative unlocks additional recruitable characters, and assembling the right combination of talent is key to reaching Mark's goal of competing at the highest level.
