Infinite Space is a science fiction RPG developed by Nude Maker, directed by Hifumi Kouno and produced by Atsushi Inaba, released in 2009 exclusively for the Nintendo DS. Set in outer space, the game centers on commanding and customizing a fleet drawn from a roster of more than 150 spacecraft, with players able to manage multiple ships simultaneously during engagements. The experience incorporates tactical combat, simulation elements, and visual novel-style storytelling, supported by a cast of over 200 characters. The title pushes the DS hardware considerably, offering a level of mechanical depth and scale that was notably ambitious for the platform at the time of its release. The combination of fleet-building, crew management, and narrative scope positions it as one of the more complex RPG undertakings on the handheld.
"Growing up as a second class citizen on a back-water planet, Yuri dreamed of being able to travel the stars. After many years he saved up enough credits to buy transport off the planet, but space travel is forbidden to second class citizens, and he is chased by the security forces of the corrupt owner of the planet. To survive the dangers of space Yuri must become a captain, buy and customize star ships, and fight against hostile enemies both on the ground and in space."
