Released in 2005 by EA Redwood Shores for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Nintendo GameCube, James Bond 007: From Russia with Love is a third-person shooter and racing game drawing from both Ian Fleming's 1957 novel and the 1963 film adaptation of the same name. The game expands on its source material with new action-oriented sequences and alters the main villains' affiliations, while incorporating elements from other classic Bond films to evoke the era — including the jetpack from Thunderball and the Aston Martin DB5 introduced in Goldfinger. It is historically notable as the first video game to use Sean Connery's likeness as James Bond and the first to feature entirely new voice work recorded by the actor himself. The title also holds the distinction of being the final James Bond game published by EA before the franchise's video game rights transferred to Activision in 2006.
This game follows the storyline of the novel and 1963 movie, with adding in new scenes to make the game more action-oriented, as well as changing the affiliation of the main villains.
