James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire, developed by EA Redwood Shores and released in 2001 for PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox, was the first Bond title to appear on all three platforms simultaneously. The game follows James Bond as he pursues Nigel Bloch, CEO of Identicon — a division of the criminal Malprave Industries — to rescue captured CIA agent Zoe Nightshade and recover stolen DNA samples. Missions span multiple global locations and blend three distinct play styles: a first-person shooter mode for most levels, a rail-shooter segment where only aiming and firing are controlled, and a driving mode featuring classic Bond vehicles. Players have access to a range of gadgets including the Q-Claw and Q-Decoder, as well as conventional and fictional weaponry such as the Photon cannon. Many missions accommodate both aggressive and stealthy approaches, and a performance-based rating system unlocks content across single-player and multiplayer modes.
