Kinect Sports is a sports simulation collection developed by Rare and released for the Xbox 360 in 2010, built entirely around Microsoft's Kinect motion-sensing peripheral. The game packages six full sports — ten-pin bowling, boxing, track and field, table tennis, beach volleyball, and association football — alongside eight mini-games, all designed to showcase what the Kinect hardware can do. Gameplay requires players to stand in front of the sensor and physically replicate real-world athletic movements, whether throwing a javelin, swinging a punch, or kicking a ball. There are no traditional controllers involved; the body itself serves as the input device. The selection of sports spans a broad range of physical actions, from precise wrist movements in table tennis to full-body sprinting in track and field events, making the collection a wide-ranging demonstration of Kinect's motion-capture capabilities.
