Medieval II: Total War — Kingdoms is a 2007 expansion to Medieval II: Total War, developed by The Creative Assembly and available on PC, Linux, and Mac. A turn-based strategy and real-time tactics title, it adds four standalone campaigns set across distinct historical theaters: the British Isles, Teutonic Northern Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. The Americas campaign significantly expands on the limited South American content in the base game, opening large portions of both continents and introducing fully playable New World factions including the Aztecs, Apaches, and Mayans. Across all campaigns, the expansion adds 13 new factions, more than 110 unit types, and 50 building types, amounting to approximately 80 hours of additional content. Kingdoms also introduces hotseat multiplayer — a first for the Total War series — enabling two players to conduct a one-versus-one campaign on the same machine, alongside new dedicated multiplayer maps.
