Metro Redux is a double-game collection developed by 4A Games and released in 2014, available on PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It brings together definitive editions of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, both rebuilt using an updated version of the 4A Engine. The collection delivers 60 frames-per-second gameplay alongside overhauled lighting, physics, and dynamic weather effects — technical improvements that had previously been limited to high-end PC hardware. Each game is a story-driven shooter blending survival horror, exploration, stealth, and tactical combat. Returning players encounter a substantially reworked version of the Metro world, with numerous gameplay refinements added on top of the visual upgrades. For those new to the series, the package offers an entry point into both titles within a single release, covering the full arc of the original two games.
The year is 2033. Twenty years ago, the world was devastated by an apocalyptic event, annihilating almost all mankind and turning the earth’s surface into a poisonous wasteland. An entire generation has been born and raised underground, and their besieged Metro Station-Cities struggle for survival, with each other, and the mutant horrors that await outside.
