MLB SlugFest: Loaded is an arcade-style baseball game developed by Midway, released in 2004 for Xbox and PlayStation 2. Rather than simulating the sport realistically, it leans into exaggerated, fast-paced action: players can throw beanballs, deliver punishing tags, and trigger turbo-speed sprints. Athletes accumulate momentum to literally catch fire, while collisions between players carry an over-the-top physical impact. The roster draws from official MLB teams and players, whose stats and rosters were updated for the release. New additions include customizable replay options, exploding scoreboards, and online functionality that allows players to bring their coaches, rosters, and teams into competitive play, including a dedicated Online Tournament Mode. Voice chat and a live sports ticker are also supported in online sessions. The soundtrack features Ivory Wire, Buckfast Superbee, and Flipswitch.
